Autumnal reprise

Autumn is in full throttle and I find myself liking this season more and more as the years go by. It’s such a beautiful and sad time of change. Slowly the days get colder and darker, the sun shines a little redder, seasonal veggies dot the landscape with bursts of orange pumpkins and golden green gourds. I plan my outings carefully, despising the cold, but loving field trips to the local organic farm, pumpkin hunting, or a sweatered walk through crispy leaves. I like to stay in more, and take gratitude in things that warm me from the inside. Nights spent by candle light with a neighbor sampling tea, dreaming up all the delicious things I could bake, or inventing new soups inspired by all the fabulous orange things you can eat in October. I pick up old projects and start new ones. It’s a time where I refind myself after all that summer loves to shake up in the chaos of heat and sweat and sunshine; the time where I actually look forward to winter, but before I remember to hate it and its bitter cold fury.
So amongst other projects this fall, I picked up the pieces of emilypasha.com that were left after my hard drive ate my photo library and decided to find a new beginning. Peek around and check back for updates, current inspirations and perhaps a few new recipes.
Light a candle; it provides a lot more warmth than you ever imagined.
